When I was in elementary school, I fell through the cracks. I needed help (growing up in an abusive home), and no one provided it.

Then in middle school, a 6th grade teacher saved my life.

I know what it’s like to have high school be more of a home than your actual home. And I made a promise back then that if I was ever in a position of power, I’d never let someone fall through the cracks of a school system again.

In this time of crisis, in this age of insecurity, perhaps the only thing we have that keeps the future possible…is each other.
