As one of Kentucky’s poorest school districts, Barbourville Independent can only afford just 40% of the funding that kids in the richest school district get. But according to the Kentucky Education Reform Act, the state government should be giving Barbourville at least $1000 more per student.
If Elected to School Board, I Will:
Fight for the extra funding state law says we’re entitled to
Get teachers the extra resources they need
Use the additional funding to encourage smaller class sizes and hire needed staff
Make long overdue repairs and renovations (such as expanding the cafeteria)
